A Word From Pastor Doris - July 09
Chelsea is celebrating its 175th anniversary the weekend after I am writing this. Last night I practiced with the choir with folk from all over Chelsea for the ecumenical service we will have Sunday. We are singing the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “America the Beautiful.” With the Fourth of July coming, we look back at our history and what made this country such a promising place for our ancestors. My own family came for Wales and Ireland and Terry’s from Germany (I must be related to some of you by marriage!) and England. The freedoms they found, especially to worship as they wanted are what is still the draw for so many today.

Thank you so much to all of you who helped us to reach our goal of $100 for Relay for Life. In fact, you filled our donation box with $110! We’re taking part in Relay for Life to honor those we’ve lost to cancer, to support those who are fighting cancer, and to give hope to those who may be touched by cancer in the future. We greatly appreciate your support of this event.

Congratulations go to Jeff Cammet and Amy Blonde who were married on June 20 at their home in Saline. Jeff is the son of Bill and Carol Cammet, and Amy is the daughter of Timothy Blonde (deceased) and Charles and Shirley Wright.
Congratulations also go to Paul Horning and Amy Neitling who were married on June 27 at Zion. Paul is the son of Neil Horning and Linda McFadden. Amy is the daughter of Jim and Sharon Neitling.
