Pastor Kurt Hutchens

Pastor Kurt Hutchens began serving as our interim Pastor in July 2020 and is now our full-time rostered pastor.  He came to us from more than 21 years at Shalom Lutheran Church in Pinckney, Michigan.

Lay Minister Dale Eckart

Minister Dale began his internship at Zion in August 2018, and is now our Licensed Lay Minister. He helps with our worship and music ministries and has been vital to Zion during this pandemic and our transition in pastors.

Mary Tobin is our Office Administrator and Treasurer. Mary has been with us for 14 years and can answer most any question or can direct you to the person who can. She is generally available Tuesday through Friday in the church office (734-475-8064) or by email at zionchelsea@yahoo.com.

Jill Quagliata is our Worship & Creative Arts Director, as well as Praise Team Director and Accompanist.

Maddie Parker is our Director of Kids & Youth Ministries.

Church Council

The Council is made up of the Executive Committee and the chairs of our various Ministry Teams. The Council meets monthly and is responsible for the general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation from worship and finance to forming faith. All is accomplished under the guidance and eye of our Lord, in accordance with God’s Word and the faith and practice of the ELCA.

Executive Team

The Executive Team, made up of the Church President, Vice President, Finance Director, and the Pastor, works with the Council to develop and support congregational leadership, act as liaison between the congregation and the Southeast Michigan Synod, as well as the ELCA and the community at large.
